TalusPro · Estimating Software
Bid the dirt work in an afternoon, not a weekend.
Earthwork, stormwater and site takeoff with real volume math — then a priced bid you can send, and take a deposit on, without leaving the app.

Spreadsheets don’t know shrink/swell. TalusPro does.
- A spreadsheet has no idea what shrink/swell is until someone remembers to type it in — and misses it half the time.
- Redrawing the takeoff grid by hand every time a plan set gets revised eats the whole afternoon.
- Stormwater volumes live in a second spreadsheet, so the pipe and pond numbers quietly drift from the earthwork numbers.
- A bid goes out as a flat PDF — no link, no deposit request, no way for the customer to act on it without a phone call.
- TalusPro reads the plan set and scaffolds the project automatically — sheets, scale and scope come in with the upload, not a second data-entry pass.
- Cut, fill and haul volumes are computed from the grid and surface, with shrink/swell applied per material every time — not "when someone remembers."
- Stormwater pipe runs and pond stage-storage volumes are priced in the same takeoff as the earthwork, so nothing drifts between files.
- Every bid is a shareable page with a flat or percentage deposit request built in — the customer pays by PayPal without a phone call.
The whole job, from plan set to signed bid.
Drop a doc, get a project
Upload the plan set and it scaffolds the project — sheets, scale, scope — so you're not typing it twice.
Cut, fill and haul
Grid and surface volumes with shrink/swell applied, so the number you bid is the number you move.
Pipe, trench and pond
Trench excavation, bedding and backfill per run, plus stage-storage volumes for detention.
Your costs, your markup
Line items priced from your own cost catalog, with overhead, contingency and profit kept honest.
Send it, get paid
Share a clean bid page. Ask for a flat or percentage deposit and collect it by PayPal.
Straight to your account
Deposits land in your own PayPal. We don't take a cut of the payment.
Six steps, one app, no CAD.
Drop the plan set
Upload the PDF. Sheets, scale and scope are read automatically.
Project auto-scaffolds
TalusPro builds the project structure so you start on the takeoff, not the setup.
Earthwork takeoff
Cut/fill grid and surface volumes, shrink/swell applied per material.
Stormwater takeoff
Pipe trench, bedding, backfill and detention pond stage-storage.
Priced line items
Every quantity is priced from your own cost catalog — your costs, your markup.
Share & collect
Send the bid link. Take a flat or percentage deposit by PayPal, no phone call required.
Not just a total — the takeoff behind it.

Example project — illustrative volumes.

| STM-1 | RCP | 15″ | 210 ft | 38 CY |
| STM-2 | RCP | 18″ | 165 ft | 34 CY |
| STM-3 | HDPE | 12″ | 90 ft | 14 CY |

Example project — trench, bedding and pond volumes in one takeoff.
Sheets, scale and scope read from the upload — nothing re-typed by hand.
Example project — one shareable bid page, one deposit link.
Built for the estimator, not the CAD department.
Sitework & grading contractors
Bid earthwork packages fast without hand-drawing a grid every time the plans revise.
Stormwater & utility subs
Price pipe runs and detention ponds in the same takeoff as the dirt, instead of a separate spreadsheet.
Civil estimators-for-hire
Juggle several GCs’ plan sets at once with a consistent, repeatable takeoff process.
Self-performing GCs
Get a fast second opinion on dirt quantities before committing to a self-perform number.
Small excavation outfits
Replace a shared, error-prone spreadsheet with one cost catalog everyone bids from.
TalusPro vs. spreadsheets vs. generic estimating tools.
| TalusPro | Spreadsheets | Generic estimating tools | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cut/fill takeoff speed | Minutes, from the plan set | Hours of manual grid math | Depends on CAD import setup |
| Shrink/swell applied | Automatically, per material | Manual — easy to forget | Sometimes, buried in settings |
| Stormwater pipe & pond volumes | Built into the same takeoff | A separate file, separate risk | Often a separate module or add-on |
| Your own cost catalog | Yes — your costs, your markup | Possible, but no structure | Often a shared/generic database |
| Shareable bid page | One link, ready to send | PDF export only | Sometimes, as an extra module |
| Deposit collection | Built-in PayPal, funds to you | Manual invoice or check | Rare — needs a separate processor |
| CAD license required | No | No | Often yes |
| Learning curve | About a day | None, but fully manual | Weeks |
Honest numbers, honest money.
Shrink/swell, applied honestly
Bank, loose and compacted volumes are converted with shrink/swell factors per material, so the cut, fill and net-export numbers match what actually has to move on site — not a rounded guess.
Your cost catalog, not ours
Every line item prices off unit costs you enter and control. There is no shared "industry average" black box deciding your bid for you.
Deposits go straight to you
PayPal deposits move directly into your own business account. TalusPro never holds or touches client funds, and takes no cut of the payment.
Your data stays yours
Projects, cost catalog and bid history are scoped to your account. Crew and Company seats share your shop’s catalog — never another customer’s.

Questions estimators actually ask.
What plan formats do you accept for takeoff?
Drop in a PDF plan set and TalusPro scaffolds the project — sheets, scale and scope are read automatically so you are not re-entering the job by hand.
How accurate is the cut/fill takeoff?
TalusPro computes grid and surface volumes with shrink/swell factors applied, so the cut, fill and net-export numbers match what actually has to move on site.
Can my customer pay a deposit online?
Yes. Every bid can carry a flat or percentage deposit request, and the customer pays it by PayPal without leaving the bid page — the funds land directly in your own PayPal account.
Do I need CAD experience to use TalusPro?
No. TalusPro is built for estimators, not CAD drafters — you work from the plan set and a guided takeoff, not a modeling tool.
Does it handle stormwater pipe and pond volumes?
Yes. TalusPro prices trench excavation, bedding and backfill per pipe run, plus stage-storage volumes for detention ponds, alongside the earthwork takeoff.
Can more than one estimator share a project?
The Crew and Company plans add multiple estimator seats with a shared cost catalog, so pricing stays consistent across everyone bidding out of the same shop.
What happens to my bids if I outgrow my plan?
You can move between Solo, Crew and Company at any time from your account — your projects, cost catalog and bid history carry over with you.
Can I reuse an existing cost catalog, or do I start from scratch?
You build your cost catalog once inside TalusPro — unit costs for excavation, hauling, pipe, structures and materials — and every takeoff after that prices off it, so you are never re-entering the same numbers.
Does TalusPro replace my CAD or design software?
No. TalusPro is an estimating and bidding tool, not a design tool. It reads your plan set to build volumes and pricing; you still use your own design software (or your engineer’s) to produce the plans themselves.
How does it handle a detention pond on the stormwater plan?
TalusPro computes stage-storage volumes for the pond alongside the earthwork and pipe takeoff, so the pond’s excavation and storage numbers are priced in the same bid instead of a separate spreadsheet.
Is my project data private to my company?
Yes. Projects, cost catalog and bids are scoped to your account — Crew and Company seats share your shop’s catalog and bid history, never another TalusPro customer’s.
What support do I get if I need help fast on a live bid?
Email support is included on every plan. Crew adds same-day response, and Company adds priority phone and email support for time-sensitive bids.
