Payments Addendum

Counsel has not reviewed this draft. It is not the contract.

Last updated: September 20, 2026

This addendum applies when You connect Stripe or PayPal, or collect payment on an invoice or other document through Accounting Software. It is part of the Terms of Service.

Who the merchant is

You connect Your own Stripe account and/or PayPal account. You are the merchant of record. Your customer pays You. Refunds, disputes, and tax reporting for those charges are Yours. Scott Applications LLC is the merchant of record only for the software subscription You pay us.

Scott Apps is not a bank, money transmitter, marketplace, payment facilitator, or escrow. Invoice funds do not settle to Scott Apps.

Your ongoing warranties

By enabling a payment rail You warrant that:

  • You are enabling payments for Your US business, not for another person or company.
  • You sell goods or services You actually provide. You will not use Scott Apps to collect for anyone else.
  • Your business is not in a prohibited category, including cannabis, adult content, gambling, weapons, crypto, stored value, or debt relief.
  • You have read Stripe's Prohibited and Restricted Businesses and PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy.
  • You understand You are the merchant of record. Customers see Your name on statements.
  • You are not using this account to evade a prior Stripe, PayPal, or card-network termination.

United States only

Payment rails are available only to US businesses with a US Stripe and/or PayPal account. A connected account outside the United States will not be enabled.

What we may do

We may create charges and refunds on Your connected account, read status and capabilities, and share Connected Account Data with Stripe as needed to provide the Service. We may disable payment rails immediately, including if a processor restricts You, if dispute rates are excessive, or if we believe You are in a prohibited category — and we may notify the processor. The platform fee on document collection is 0% today. We will disclose a platform fee before charging one.

Sales tax on Your customer's invoice is Yours. Card payments on Your connected account may be reported by Stripe to the IRS and to You on a 1099-K. We do not file that form, and we do not file a 1099-NEC for You.
